Trading involves substantial risk of loss
Trading and investing in stocks, options, futures, forex, CFDs, cryptocurrencies and other financial instruments involves a high degree of risk and is not suitable for every person. Prices can move quickly and against you. Leverage and margin can magnify losses as well as gains, and you can lose more than your initial deposit in some products. Cryptocurrency markets are especially volatile, trade 24/7, and are lightly regulated. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.
Indicators and signals can be wrong
- The Product applies mathematical formulas to price data. It cannot predict the future. Signals, labels, trend colours, levels and “confidence” figures can and will be wrong, sometimes many times in a row.
- A signal that appears on a chart is not a guarantee that a trade will be profitable, that a price will reach any level, or that a stop-loss will protect you. Slippage, gaps, spreads, fees and liquidity can cause real results to differ greatly from what a chart shows.
- Signals depend on the chart settings, timeframe, symbol, data feed and session you choose, and on TradingView’s platform behaviour. The same indicator can show different results for different users.
- Indicators that look at confirmed price data place signals only after the relevant bar closes. Signals on the current, still-forming bar may change until that bar closes, and historical signals can look more accurate in hindsight than they felt in real time.
- Market conditions change. An approach that worked in one period or market may stop working.
Hypothetical and simulated performance
HYPOTHETICAL OR SIMULATED PERFORMANCE RESULTS HAVE CERTAIN LIMITATIONS. UNLIKE AN ACTUAL PERFORMANCE RECORD, SIMULATED RESULTS DO NOT REPRESENT ACTUAL TRADING. ALSO, SINCE THE TRADES HAVE NOT BEEN EXECUTED, THE RESULTS MAY HAVE UNDER- OR OVER-COMPENSATED FOR THE IMPACT, IF ANY, OF CERTAIN MARKET FACTORS, SUCH AS LACK OF LIQUIDITY. SIMULATED TRADING PROGRAMS IN GENERAL ARE ALSO SUBJECT TO THE FACT THAT THEY ARE DESIGNED WITH THE BENEFIT OF HINDSIGHT. NO REPRESENTATION IS BEING MADE THAT ANY ACCOUNT WILL OR IS LIKELY TO ACHIEVE PROFITS OR LOSSES SIMILAR TO THOSE SHOWN.
The animated signal preview, before/after chart comparison, example screener results, example trade ideas (entries, stop losses, take profits and confidence percentages) and other charts on the Site are simulated or hand-picked illustrations created to show how the Product displays information. They are not a record of actual trades and are not representative of results you should expect.
Past performance
Past performance, whether actual or simulated, is not indicative of and does not guarantee future results.
Your responsibility
You alone are responsible for your trading decisions, position sizing, risk management, and for the gains and losses in your accounts. Before trading, understand the instruments you trade, consider your financial situation, objectives and risk tolerance, and consider seeking advice from a licensed, independent financial professional.
Technology risk
Platforms, data feeds, alerts, internet connections and devices can fail, lag or show incorrect data. TradingView may change its platform or Pine Script language in ways that affect the Product. We are not responsible for losses caused by such failures.
